Be honest and just talk to them with your whole sincerity. Don't lie, don't exaggerate or don't do anything stupid just to be noticed your parents.

Leave a note, about what you're dealing with or what you want to talk about. It seemed to work for me back then. It's also fairly creative :)

Tell them that you have an important topic you need to speak with them upon. Make sure they are in the same place, at the same time. Make your point clear.

I just walk up to them and talk to them or sometimes I just write them a letter...Writing is the best medium of communication but it really depends on how your parents are...I can do it both ways

It depends on what the problem is. However, a general rule of thumb is the ever so popular, 'honesty is the best policy'. Parents can be difficult to deal with. BUT...they gave you life, raised you and continue to care and love for you. If it is something they have done, they may not know it and need to hear it. If it is something on your end, as I said before they are your parents and may be of more help then they are given credit for.

Sometimes, I find that it is easier to write a letter to someone when you want to have a serious conversation about something, this is especially helpful if you are nervous about the other person interrupting or not listening to everything you need to say.

You ask them if they have a moment and that you need to talk to them about a problem. (whether it's a personal issue or if they are doing something wrong it's best to be honest)

I would either leave a note for your parents expressing that you would like to talk to them or I would bring it up as a casual conversation at the end of dinner.

Honestly, my parents and I have always had a good relationship, so I have nothing to worry about when I tell them problems. Others would definitely have difficulties when telling parents they have problems. Well for those of you who have difficulties, you don't need to worry about anything. Just tell them that you need to talk and discuss your problems. Your parents have done everything from raising you to watching you grow into the person you are today, and they are the only thing that surpasses best friends. So ignore that feeling of anxiety when you want to tell your parents something, because they will always be there for you no matter how difficult it may be.

Being open and straight forward would be the best option to select. You dont have to worry about anything. After all they are your parents. :)
