How to deal with it? Here's my opinion: Every person is unique and has his own traits, interests, passions, hobbies, strengths and weaknesses. In life some people will appreciate you, some won't. Some will be part of your growth, others will put you down and break down your confidence. I know myself well enough to know which areas I am good at and which ones I'm not good at. I don't try to be someone else to make a person happy, I stay true to myself and let people think what they want to. If my father wants me to be a mathematician, he will unfortunately be disappointed. That's not my strength. If he wants me to lift items that weigh more than I do, he will be disappointed. I'm not cut out for physical activities. I gave up trying to make everyone happy, because you can try your whole life and still be unsuccessful. Stand up for yourself and let rude people know that there's a proper way to talk to you if they really need to. If that's beyond their capabilities, it's not your responsibility to accept negative behavior. They need to identify their own weaknesses and fix that first before trying to “fix” other people for not blending into their vision of perfection.
