If she seems off lately. Although she seems to remember somethings detailed. She tends to forget important things. They sometimes seem sure about things they remember, even though it's wrong or again - off.

if your mum keeps repeating the same thing over and over again. Be careful that she does not have urine track infection which can show the same symptoms.

Try to ask if they're oriented to time, place, and name. For example "what day is it?","what country is it ?"and "who is the president?" Or their present location, (Do you know where you live?) If they get all answers correctly on a regular, they are considered oriented. If not, then they might be experiencing the onset of dementia.

If she is not only forgetful but doing things like placing her keys in the oven for example,has mood changes,doesn't recognize you,gets lost in familiar places,these could all be signs she could have dementia and should see a doctor.
