Meditation can come in many different forms, but the key is always to isolate only one element in your mind and maintain focus for as long as you can. The more you practice, the easier this will become. Its easy to do this at home by using your senses. For example, make a cup of tea and breathe in the steam. It will smell nice and it will give you something to focus on. Focus on nothing but that smell. You can do this with anything, really, this was just an example. If you prefer to use your mind alone, think of something you are fond of. Something you really like, a place, or 'someone'. Try not to scatter your mind too much. If you have memories associated with this thing, place or person, try to think about only one of them. The longer you can maintain focus on one aspect alone, the better your chances of reaching a state of meditation.

Meditation is not something that should be considered professional so how you meditate is totally up to you. Your way of meditating could involve chill music and just reflecting on what you have done recently and in the past and, if there is anything you should change and things you want to do in the future. Or you could just have moments of silence, just letting yourself relax and enjoy the atmosphere. Do anything that suits you.

You can start by sitting and just watching your breaths and your thoughts. Simply notice your breath as it goes in and out and see your thoughts coming and going without interfering with them. You can also be mindful of your body by feeling and sending every part of your body in this present moment.
