Meditation and Mindfulness can be life saving, or just some of the most relaxing things you do in the day! If you want to learn them, then by golly go and learn them! Simply, you could use this page for mindfulness, we have tabs that can give you short previews. If you decide you love it, you can research more on the internet, YouTube, or simply shut your mind off and learn yourself. Listen to the things around you and feel what you are touching. Really breath in and out and feel the track of the breath you are taking. Lastly, see if anyone in your community is in a meditation club or even you could start with yoga, which is quite similar. I would highly recommend both of these exercises, they have helped me tremendously.

You meditate by “Thinking about your Thoughtsâ€. In meditation you put into practice your concentration. And mindfulness is a state of active, open attention on the present without judging if things are good or bad. You can use YouTube videos to do these exercises.

Practise...! The beauty of mediation is that you already have all the tools you need.... You were born with them. Find some time when you won't be disturbed, calm your mind, relax and quieten your body, and make an intention to find your inner peace. Focusing on your breathing can help. There are some great guided meditations online that can help steer you in the right direction: I recommend Tara Brach, Mooji or Deepak Chopra. Good luck :)

There are many options, some of them are: log into 7cupsoftea and either head to the Mindfulness Forum section for inspiration and sharing of thoughts and experiences or asking your questions relating to the practice. OR join the daily mindfulness sessions which are held at 9:00amEDT, 3:00pmEDT and 6:00pmEDT. You can go to the Mood Boost section under the My Path tab, and click on one of the mindfulness meditation session there. Sit back, and follow through till the end, they don't take long. Otherwise there is plenty of great material on youtube, or sites with great information if you search on your web browser. The key is to be kind to yourself, sit back and cultivate the observer in you. Notice what goes on inside of you without judgement. 'Nothing is good, nothing is bad, is just Is.' Simply notice the thoughts and feelings which are moving through you, as though you are honoring guests in your home. People think that meditation is about clearing ones head of all thoughts.. well, it is not.. that is a consequence of practicing meditation.. Meditation is truly about focus. The Mind, is like any other organ in the body, it's function is - to think. If you stop thinking / mind stops working, then you're practically dead. :) So don't fret. Focus on your physical sensations to help you get out of your mind, and ground yourself into the Present Moment. The more you practice, the easier it becomes, like learning how to ride a bicycle. :) Be gentle with yourself, and you'll get there!

There are three basic aspects that you need to work with: body, mind, and thoughts. Before starting this, you need a good environment. Choose a room that you would like meditating in. If not a whole room, go for a corner, Put some pictures up, play some relaxing music to get into the feel. Do not sit near things that might distract you, E.g. Tv, Phones etc etc. Once you've picked your spot, choose a seat. It could be a cushion or on a chair. The point is to avoid being wiggly so choose wisely. Start by sitting in a comfortable position (legs crossed) don't choose an uncomfortable posture. Try to sit with your back straight. Then set your attention at one spot. Try not to wander and get lost in your thought. You will wander but that's a part of it. concentrate on your breathing. Don't worry too much about it. Don't try to alter it in any way, it should be natural. Don't let your thoughts interrupt you. At first, you will find yourself getting distracted but bring yourself back by thinking about what you are doing at the moment. How long can you do this for? Start by 10- 15 minutes and gradually increase it (20-30 and then to 45 minutes)
