Sometimes it is hard to look forward and see how there is going to be a change, and if there is a change for the better, how can you know you won't fall back down again? First of all, don't be so hard on yourself. You can do what you want to do when you want to do it. No one is in charge of you, but you. Secondly, It is perfectly normal to feel as if you want to stay in a "place" that is normal and comfortable for you. For example, I know that starting an exercise program is the wise the thing to do for one's health. However, it is hard and new and I don't know how to start by myself. So for now, I am in control and can sit in the feelings I am having for as long as I want. Then at some point, I might want to do something differently. Finally, it is ok to reach out to someone and say, "I feel a little lost and uncomfortable right now, but I think I want to try something different. Can you "walk" next to me while I do this? In the end, the road you choose will be there to support you as you walk along the path. Be kind to yourself and gracious. You are a wonderful soul.
