It's really hard to break the habit of competing when it comes to eating disorders. You have to constantly stop yourself when you find yourself competing and remind yourself that you have your own body with it's shape and size, and that even if you hurt yourself to reach that weight, your body may not look the same. You have to learn to love your body for the way it looks, and that can be a constant self reminder

Slow yourself. Start out by just eating one meal by yourself. Then try with one person. Continue doing this until you no longer feel as if it is a competition. This is what I did.

Remove them from your life on a temporary basis, and explain to them the reasons why - otherwise don't see them all the time or hear from them everyday - maybe once a week.
