How long will it take before the pain of what happened to me fades away?

I wish I could give you a definite answer, or a exact solution, or words that will take away your pain. Such magic does not exist within me, but what I can offer you is hope. Pain can often be the cruelest emotion and certainly one hard to bear. There is no straight line which tells you how to get rid of it, but you can get through this. One day at a time, slowly but surely, the pain will decrease and although you may not know when it will disappear, you will be able to have good days and smile. It may be long, it may be short, but as long as you hold onto hope, you have this in you. I believe in you.

No way to know for sure, it depends on the individual, how tough they are; and what situation happened to them.

The pain has not faded from my life yet... but this song encourages me and I hope you too,
"It Get's Better"
This old world can be cruel sometimes
When you're looking for answers
You can't seem to find
No one understands what you're going through
Oh I know it can get lonely out there
When you feel like nobody cares
Well you look around thinking
If they only knew
Well I do
I've felt the chill of this world cut down to the bone
I've walked many a mile down this road on my own
I've been through hell on my knees
Come face to face with the devil
And I know that it's hard to believe
But it gets better
Time is a healer but we can't see how
When you're caught in the moment
And the hurting is now
We don't wanna see that maybe somethings
Weren't meant to figure out
This old world can be cruel sometimes
When you're looking for answers
Well just keep in mind
No you're not alone
We're all trying to find our way through this life
You are strong and you can do this. I can testify that it will take a lot of courage and strength and there will be times you'll want to give up. But keep on going. It's worth it in the end. In the meantime... remember you're not alone. There are so many people here willing to support you and carry you through.

If you keep holding on to what hurts you, you will continue to hurt and hold yourself back from healing. You have to distant yourself from what hurt you and distract yourself from those feelings. It won't be a quick process, it could take months or years, but if you never get started on healing, you will continue to wake up and hurt. You deserve the best!

It would definitely depend on the impact of the incident. Most importantly, how significantly it has changed the individual's life. Whatever it is, you just have to keep fighting, stay strong and be optimistic. The pain will go away eventually - nothing is permanent.

The time it will take for your pain to fade is unknown. Everyone works in different ways, and depending on yourself and your experiences it could be a quick process, or a long one. It's important not to get discouraged if it doesn't go away very quickly. Somethings just take time, and that requires patience.

Everyone has their own way of processing pain, and therefore, there is no single answer to that question. Staying active, spending time with people who care about you, sleeping well, and a healthy lifestyle can reduce the pain.
