Your depression will go away, don't worry. Hopelessness is a common symptom of depression, so if you think you're never going to get better try to remember that that is just your depression making you think that way; it's not true. If your depression keeps coming back and won't get better, this can be because of stress. So finding ways to lower the amount of stress you're currently experiencing could help! Another thing to think about is whether it could be caused by a physical problem. Some conditions that can cause people to experience depression symptoms include anemia, hypothyroidism, vitamin D deficiency, and vitamin B-12 deficiency. Another commonly suggested yet very effective way of improving depression is eating healthier. I hope this helped! Good luck. :)

Because it's just not that easy. Nothing is ever easy. But you can't give up. Just the fact that it was getting better is enough motivation, you just have to keep hanging on!

I can only answer for myself, but for me, depression comes in cycles. Everything can be fine for a very long time, but then things will turn dark again. But then just like the darkness always seems to show up again, I know the light will always be there again, too. It took me many years to figure this out.

For people with chronic depression, I am not sure it's realistic to think that your depression will ever go away completely. Get better, yes, but not go away. There are many reasons your depression could be sneaking back up on you. Oftentimes people feel great for weeks or months, and then they stop using what I call their Tool Box - medications, meditation, journaling, etc all of the strategies that helped them feel better. Sometimes we forget that those strategies don't just help us feel better momentarily - when done consistently we will continue to feel better. I have also seen many people who feel better and then stop taking their mental health medications. This is probably one of the most detrimental things that you could do.

I find it's best to think of depression the same as you would diabetes.
It will always be a part of you that you will need to address if you wish to remain healthy.
It doesn't "go away" but you will have times where it's more easily managed than other times. You will have times when, even when you're taking your meds and monitoring what you're doing properly- there will be bad days.
It will never be "gone." It will just be more or less manageable.

It just depends how you look at it. For some it will always be there at the back of they're mind. Others can just ignore it.

Because it is a reocurring sickness. There is no actual reason necessary for the depression to come again.

Sometimes we need medication to help with this. Depression can be caused by a chemical disorder. The medication just stabilizes the feelings so you are not always on a roller coaster ride.
