Depression is temporary. It is a state of being that one has the power to change. Remember that you are in control and you have the power to overcome this!

Every problem, no matter how big or small it is, comes with an expiry date. All you need to do is to endure the problem until the expiry date passes and then you are a free bird. Depression is not different. And as any other problem, depression seems to never end. But it can be brought to an end if you struggle not "with" depression rather "against" depression. And trust me, it will be one of the most wonderful and mind empowering experiences of your life. And a positive thing about depression unlike other diseases is that fight against depression need not be a one man show. Many people at the same time can fight together and all of them can get out of it easily and quickly.
Just remember this: no matter how vast and seemingly endless an ocean is, there is always a shore on the other side. :)

I can tell you honestly and genuinely--no. I've struggled with depression, myself, for a good portion of my childhood, and even currently. You will have moments where you feel doubt and weakness; everyone does. But you will ALWAYS have moments of unabashed and true happiness, regardless of how brief or long they are. Those are the moments that will lift you up and allow you to keep going; those are the moments that will give you chances to come up for air. With time, those moments become longer and longer and longer, until they stop being moments and start being life. You'll get there, and all of us at 7 Cups are here to help you towards that.

No, you wont. You can go seek for professional help and they'll lead you to yourself. You can also join some activities to lessen it and always think positive. :)

Depression is no longer a struggle as soon as you learn to accept and manage the difficulties of depression. It will take time but with some dedication and hard work, you can overcome the darkness of depression. There's always a hidden light to find.

I'd say yes. Depression is something that will stay with you for the rest of your life, but there are many ways you can manage it so it might be less of a struggle.

Probably not. There are different types of depression though and some do get over it and some struggle more. It really depends on your motivation to actually want to get over it(which can depend because depression basically takes over your life) and on how far it has come.

I honestly feel like I will. I've delt with depression since I was 8 and I'm now turning 18 . It makes me feel pretty sad

No, you won't. Or better, do you want to struggle with depression for the rest of your life? The question itself makes me think that your reply will be negative. You don't want it; you hate it. You want to be finally fine and free from these dark, invisible chains. And with your will and therapy, yes, you will be fine again, also if now it seems impossible or that you are too weak to do it. You can. I did too. And I'm finally fine today.

It would be ridiculous for me to say some cliche answer, and depression can differ in many ways, but the way I look at mental illnesses is that it's okay to be sad. It's okay to feel the need to die. Although, that doesn't mean you should let it take over your entire life. My advice is to do things that make you happy, within reason, and try to think happy thoughts. Keep your hopes up high and your head down low!
