I believe you will be able to live your life without coming back to depression if you are diligent and heed early warning signs if the illness starts coming back. Depression is disabling and can be devastating. It is an illness that cannot be seen as easily as one sees a broken leg. Therefore, sometimes those who suffer from depression do not realize they are in a very real disease process. It is easy to see a person is hurt and will need time and care to heal if they have a broken leg. Unfortunately many people who are depressed believe they are not really ill and could recover if they just "pulled themselves up by their bootstraps." This would be like entering a race with a broken leg thinking that with enough gumption that leg will automatically heal and can be run on. This is of course ludicrous, the leg must be healed before it can be run on. Like a broken leg, a person recovering from depression needs time, rest, and quite possibly medical intervention. With time, patience and attention healing can be realized. In my opinion, once a person has depression there is always a chance to have it again. I think a person should stay vigilant and look for early warning signs that the depression is coming back. Warning signs may include: lethargy, sadness, low-motivation, and other signs that the illness is returning. This way the disease can be caught in the early stages and a person may then have a mild case or a quick recovery. I believe with good self-care and wariness for any depression symptoms can allow a person to live life without having a return to depression or to make a recurrence less severe. The illness should be taken seriously. It is a real medical condition and should be treated with attention and care.

No one can tell you this for sure. But, having gone through it successfully once does give you the tools to cope through and beat another regression.

Its not easy to lead a normal life after facing depression. Anything could act as a trigger that might lead you back into experiencing it. The only way to fight depression is to accept it and try to have control over it. Remember that you are greater than what you've been through and that you are not alone in this fight against depression.

Yes! I just recently got over my depression and it can be scary because you really do not want to fall backwards. Sometimes you may feel like your going back to your old ways, but that doesn't mean you are. You may have set backs because it is a difficult journey, but you just have to keep moving forward and know its only just a bump in the road! With this idea in mind, you can be able to accept how you feel and hopefully live the life you want.

Yes, I will be able to live my life without coming back to depression because I know how it felt like to be depressed and it's not a very good feeling, specially when you come to the point that you'll think no one loves you and you decide or thought of ending your life and it's no way a good thought and a terrible feeling so, no coming back to depression.
