It is hard to overcome without a support network, be it friends, medication or a counsellor. You will not be depressed for all your life. The scars will be visible, but you will hopefully view them with pride as they made you tougher than you were.

This is not a yes or no question. Some people do experience depression for most of their lives, and some people find a way to see the good and the joy and be happy again. It is so important not to take the good thing sin your life for granted, and once we realize how lucky we truly are, just to be alive, that is when we begin to see the light and to really enjoy life again.

I know that depression can feel really overwhelming and takes it toll. It can be very difficult, but it is more than manageable. There are plenty of wonderful ways to manage, cope, and overcome depression, though. From talking with listeners, counselors, or other people, finding new hobbies and passions, meeting new, good people, coping strategies, and medications, there is a way that fits everyone in one way or another. It's only a matter of gaining the courage to take that big step towards better wellness and finding what works best for you. :)

To be honest, maybe you will. Maybe you won't find happiness. But you know what? If you fight as hard as you can, you WILL get through it. This is just another bump in the road of your life. You just have to climb over it. I'll tell you one thing, though. If you give up, you will always have depression. I guess that means you can't stop fighting then!
