Most people who experience depression will struggle for a relatively short period and be able to come out of it. Though there are those who will continue to face depression off and on for many years. There can be ups and downs, but there are always things you can do to improve how you're feeling. You may always have depression, but that doesn't mean you have to always feel depressed.

No. Depression, in every recognized form by the DSM, is treatable in one way or another. Things like medication, cognitive therapy, and group counseling can all help to lift your feelings of sadness. Depression might not be something you can cure or get rid of, but it is definitely treatable.

I still suffer with depression even through all the experience and wisdom over the years but I get better at recognizing it and dealing with the issue instead of wallowing in self pity for an extended time.

No, there are things you can do to rid yourself from depression. Try speaking to a professional about your feelings to try and find out where your depression is stemming from. Being active helps with your general mood. Cardio was always my preference.
