Because it is a natural part of life. It is essential to think about it and accept it as an inevitable part of our time here. It does not mean that you are mentally anxious or sick, only that you are trying to process this fact which is by nature so abstract for us humans, since we cannot fathom anything that ends a previous cycle.

Most likely because first thing in the morning your defenses are lowered. You haven't fully woken up and the thoughts you usually push down are more than happy to jump up and torment you before you have a chance to get ready. You're getting sucker punched by negativity. Fight back. Bullies always give up when their victim shows they wont just roll over and take it.

Many times nihilistic or extreme thoughts are a product of a chemical imbalance-- particularly found in mood disorders like major depression. This is important to note because these impulsive thoughts are not you as a person but what you do with those intrusive thoughts are what you make of them.

Because you're probably feeling sad, alone, you have no one to talk with, let people in, think positive and you'll start seeing things from a different angle :)

There could be several reasons as to why you are thinking of death when you wake up . One could be due to your mental health like having anxiety and panic, depression these can put negative scary thoughts in our way of thinking. Others would be the loss of a loved one or something that you yourself are dealing with like a Physical health issue . Possibly what you watch on TV like scary movies that involve death because then we go to sleep and dream about what we have seen on tv or heard . Death is something that we all will face one day but there are ways to work on what we obsess about and worry about . Using Coping skills like distractions and meditation , grounding, making sure we replace the negative self talk with positive self talk another good one is Mindfulness .Changing your thoughts as soon as a thought pops up takes time but can be done with practice .

I believe that stems from fear. Fear of dying or fear of living on after someone close to you has passed. Release the fear by accepting that is a natural part of life. We all live and we all die, nobody has lived forever and nobody ever will.

Thinking about death every once in awhile is normal. We all have doubts about what happens when we die, whether there's an afterlife, and so on. However, if these thoughts occur persistently and harms your physical or mental well-being, you may want to pay a visit to a professional to rule out the possibility of depression or other mental health issues. If you are not depressed, and still think about death, then maybe there are factors in your life that's causing you to do so, a recent loss of a family member, for example. Regardless of how much and when you think about death, I think it's okay as long as your health is good.
