In a negative mindset, it takes less energy to point out the negative things in us rather than listing the good ones. This might be because we tend to remind ourselves of our negative traits, while underplaying our positive traits most of the time.

Because negative thoughts are automatic. They come first and are overwhelming. However, know that you are always in control and can shift you thinking to positive things once you recognize a negative thought.

Because, negative things tend to have more power over positive things. And since we are all human beings, we tend to overthink at times. The same thing happens with people who are depressed, but it's a little more intense with them. Therefore, overthinking leads a person to constantly have negative thoughts and make it harder for him/her to think positively (quite often).

I think focusing on negativity is due to our surroundings and how they think/feel/complain. it starts growing slowly on us, being lonely will make it worse as humans are social beings. when you get into depression, negative emotions increase significantly in a rate that depends on the persons. you start judging yourself harshly, in the most terrible ways, "i'm a trashcan, i can do nothing, i'm ugly, i'm dumb ...etc". leading us to forget about positivity, about the taste of life. in a simple way, being self-judgemental lead us to negativity. societies love free critics which became something everyone has inside of him (only few don't) judging others is easy, but when you start judging yourself its aweful. so yeah : stop judging, be easy to yourself, enjoy life.

Well let’s start by saying depression makes us feel so down, and unworthy, so we don’t think we deserve the positive in are life, depression makes us shut down all the good things we have and we are trapped with all of the negative things, sometimes there is more negative things then positive. Depression is horrible and people have to live with depression everyday, living with depression makes you think there isn’t anymore positive things in your life and you completely think the positive things aren’t meant for you, everyone has there own different types of struggles, and depression.
