I feel sad over small things of over nothing because sometimes or most times I have not dealt with what has made me feel that way when I was younger or even in today life day to day situations

I can relate. I also stress over small things I used to think I had to be perfect I had to dress in a certain way talk in a certain way and the truth is nobody is perfect the secret is to be yourself because being myself is the best feeling ever .. one way I learned to love myself was by embracing my flaws and by understanding that mistakes make human because it's the proof that you are trying

Having a feeling of melancholy can be quite distressing. From my personal experience i can tell that multiple factors may lead to unhappiness. 1) A subconscious thought which the person is unable to address. 2) Inconvenient or stressful environment which the person is struggling to handle. 3) Seasonal or weather related pensiveness. 4) Health issues or physical weakness. 5) Past trauma or anxiety causing restlessness and despair. Feeling miserable over nothing can be very common but there's always a reason which makes us feel that way. If we are able to identify the cause then fighting that feeling becomes easy. But if not then it's always a good idea to resort to mindfulness exercises or meditation to help ease the mind. Even taking a walk out in the sunlight and getting some fresh air might help.
