Depression is not something that has to be justified by a trauma or an experience. Just because you feel like nothing has happened to cause the depressive episodes, does not mean that you cannot have it. Depression is a mental illness. Far different from a feeling of sadness, sadness comes and goes and everyone experiences it. Depression is a long-lasting sadness that can come in many shapes and forms. It can make you lose motivation, loss in interest in things you used to love, restlessness, change in moods and so much more. It is a chemical imbalance in the brain, which can be helped in many ways, shapes, and forms. You do not have to justify your mental illness.
