It's the depression talking. You feel comfortable travelling the road most walked, unfortunately this path leads to depression. Trying to escape means you have to try new paths, and this trial and error method can be a very scary experience. It requires a lot of hard work, support and faith in self. If you can't change your situation, change your attitude about it. Stay strong, things truly do get better - it's up to you to make that change.

I bet you would feel better and in no time it would be over

It may seem like a stupid answer but it really is due to you being in depression. It makes you feel like it's not worth-it, like you're not worth-it. You need to grab a hold of your depression and tell it you're the one in control, not your depression. You will overcome it and you will not be controlled by anyone, let alone yourself.

Its easy to feel like depression is overwhelming and inescapable, that's one of the challenges it comes with. What's important to remember is our brains and hearts are amazing, and we can fight back against depression a little every day in small ways- walking in the sunlight helps our brain chemistry and provides vitamin K, touch lowers stress hormones (hugs, even giving yourself a facial massage) and certain foods along with exercise help encourage our body to support us by producing more happy hormones :-).
