Crying is your body's way of flushing away excess emotion. It helps express feelings that build up inside you and can get stuck. Crying is a sign of emotion, and emotion is a sign of strength and capacity to feel. That is a very good thing.

The best way I can explained this is when a cloud has so much droplets of water that it can't hold anymore and have to release the water to create rain. Our emotions and pain can only be kept in for so much before we have to release them through tears.

Sometimes the ability to not control emotions could be a sign of being overly stressed. I have found that at times if I am under a lot of pressure or stress then it becomes harder for me to control my emotions. Something as simple as spilling a glass of milk could literally make me bust into tears. It may help if you take a moment and ask yourself what's going on in the rest of your world and if a list of things comes up you can start to tackle them one by one.

There are many possible reasons: exhaustion, stress, lack of sleep, chemical imbalances, hormones. Look for patterns in what triggers the tears, the time of day, month and year, etc. This will help you hone in on what's going on. Crying that seems out of control can be a symptom of depression. Talking to your doctor and a counselor are good steps to getting help resolving the underlying issues.

Because those build of emotions and feelings and have to be released somehow. Often you may carry on with your day to day life while bottling up those emotions, so eventually the dam is going to break.
