For me it is the times when I stop, when I am not surrounded by those I love, kept busy with my daily goings on, not reading what I like or listening to whomever I am into at that moment. It allows me in my happy life to realise that I am not happy sometimes. It can be a sign that I need to upkeep my mental and emotional well-being even when I am not feeling too down.

You haven't had a chance to fully process your previous life tragedies yet. Personally, I used to feel the same way until I wrote everything down and processed the causes and effects of my previous struggles. After that, with a good understanding of what happened and why, I no longer feel bitter about the hard times I went through and little breakdowns no longer bring out all my previous tragedies.
