If you have depression, there are many people you can turn to for support. Your friends and family play an important part of your support however if you're not comfortable turning to them then there are other people out there who can help. Your GP or Doctor is usually a good idea to discuss this with as they can suggest further support and treatment to you if you need it. Psychiatrists may be useful to you as well if you are comfortable with seeing one.

I think there's no rule when it comes to finding the right person to talk about depression. The most important thing is to find someone you can trust to. Remember, your trust might get betrayed. But eventually you'll find someone who is willing to listen to you and also to keep a secret and to give you words of support. If you think you don't have someone like that in your life, you can always come here on 7Cups where listeners like me are waiting to give you support and compassion.

i talk about it with my friend. because i feel comfortable with her, and i know she won't judge me and she'll understand. I think it's very important to share about this thing with the people you trust. so you don't have to keep it all in your head and feel more depressed

Someone who you know will not judge you and someone you are completely comfortable with. For each person there is a different person who they choose to open up to: it could be a close friend, a partner, a parent or a schoolteacher. Talking is the first step of progress

If you have any close friends, I find that they are usually the best people to talk to about these kind of things. They are close enough to you so they know you well, however, unlike your family, they are not with you 24/7, meaning you have time to gather your thoughts before speaking to them

No one. I'm introverted. I cry it through when no one's around. Write my feelings on a paper and burn them,

If you wanted to talk about depression it would be a good idea to talk to a professional. You can go to http://www.adaa.org/finding-help, which is the site for the anxiety and depression association of America, here you can locate a therapist near you, and get support from others experiencing the same thing. Hope I've helped.
