We are advised as listeners to not give advice, however its a great place to talk to helpful listeners and other people that may be in your situation. Sometimes we don't always need advice to feel better about a situation. Sometimes all we need is someone to listen even though we might not know that

It depends. Sometimes, when we say we need advice we really mean that we need a trusted one to bounce our thoughts off of, so we can find where the best path lies. If that is the case, 7Cups is certainly the place for you. You won't find direct advice, because none of us know you as well as you do, but you will find plenty of people who will help you think through what's worrying you, and with them you'll get to the place where you can give yourself the best advice you could ever receive.

7Cups is not a good place for advice because listeners are trained not to give any advice. You know what is best for you, so we do not want to tell anyone something that could end up being harmful or making things worse.

In 7Cups we can help you by listening to your problems but You are the expert on you. Our job is to help you come to decisions that make the most sense in your life. We could give you advice, but it might end up being unhelpful and we don’t want to do that
