It's difficult to answer as there is no definitive time limit, one day you could just wake up and feel as though the fog has lifted, instead of looking at the big long term picture focus on day to day/hour to hour tasks. It's about taking baby steps to feeling better. It may not happen overnight but you will get there :)

When you begin to work on yourself for yourself. You have to decide that you don't believe all of the things your mind is telling you, such as that you're unlovable, unwanted, etc. You have to believe that you deserve to get better and that it is in fact attainable. You learn to love yourself and begin to identify early warning signs of when things are going to go downhill so that you can take steps against it. Self-care is a major part of taking care of yourself and makes things better sometimes. To be honest, I don't think it actually gets easier. I think you just get better at handling it all. Everyone can get there if they work towards it.

It gets easier when we decide to change it. Sometimes when depressed, we may think we'll be like this forever and give up. That's not the solution! It's hard but in situations like this, the best is look for professional help and be honest with family. When they understand your issue, it gets better, you feel less juged and more helped. I think that's when things get "easier", when we try to get better.

Try not to but a time scale on it. Taking one day at a time, I found keeping a diary of my feelings a way to keep track of progress.

We all hit rough patches at some points in our life. However, the healing factor for a person to feel emotionally better and more at ease is time. It takes time for your feelings to reconcile and for the person to revive to himself/herself. If anything, therapy always helps!
