It's important to know, in which mood you are. If you're in a bad mood, try to get over it and listen to music, that makes you happy. Also try to watch some episodes of your favorite tv-show or message some friends. I also like to eat some cookies, even this is not the best way to handle pain or anxiety. You can also visit 7 cups and talk to a listener if you want to talk with someone about your problems. They understand you and your feelings. Dancing is another good way to get rid of sad thoughts and "dance them out". If nothing helps. Drink a cup of tea and watch your favourite youtube-star!

Focus on something physical, do not stay with yourself for a long time - do exercises or attend a sport section, aikido is a perfect way to find the internal harmony. Overthinking causes many problems, so try to find a sort of distraction that will not touch upon your feelings and mind, concentrate your attention on muscles and movements, even yoga or meditation may be not that handful when it comes to mood swings, switch to something that is more active and consumes more energy. Also team sports will help you to control your socialization process that is essential.

Mood swings are definitely a challenge that I have had to learn to overcome myself, with the help of others. I have found that grounding techniques and talking to my therapist have helped a lot! Other tools I have found to be useful include going outside and getting fresh air and sunlight, painting, drawing, coloring, writing poetry, reading books, watching my favorite shows, and much much more! I really enjoy doing stuff with my hands and being creative, all things I have learned over the course of my mental health journey! I really hope that this helps you guys!

This is a rather interesting question because it would depend on what is causing your mood swings. "Getting over" your emotions isn't as easy as we like to think because they would come back another day. The thing about emotions is that they demand to be felt (Shoutout to Albus Dumbledore!) so for people like me who have difficulty in speaking about my emotions and want to just "get over my mood swings," I like to redirect my emotions into writing. I have my muses/characters where I channel what I am feeling into them. I create drabbles, one-shots or even just small scenes for a book that I hope to one day finish, and the emotions that I feel are presented by my characters. So it is a rather indirect way of acknowledging your feelings and it helps calm down. It doesn't always work but if you're a writer or an artist, perhaps this might help.
