This is quite a common mix, so don't feel like you're by your self on these emotions. It's just few of us feel this way sometimes.

When I'm lonely or depressed one thing I do is go on a walk and listen to upbeat music to bring my mood up. Another thing I do is call or text someone so I'm not alone and don't feel quite as lonely.

What I find works really well is to engage in an activity or find a new hobby that you would not have previously engaged in. As hard as it sounds, branching out and pushing yourself to develop new friendships with unlikely people is a great way to fight depression and help your feelings of loneliness.

When I'm lonely or depressed I listen to music and I just lay down and relax. If that doesn't work, it always helps to find someone to talk to because people want to help you

I find a supportive friend to talk to and express my feelings to them. If my friends or family are busy I would write in my journal.

The most effective solution is to reach out to a friend or family member and spend some time talking to them. Plan more social outings throughout the week. Maybe see a professional about it. However, sometimes those solutions are unavailable. I highly recommend getting involved in online communities, or focusing intently on your studies. Video games are a really great escape, especially those that are interactive and involve teamwork. Start a blog. Drown yourself in a new series. Pick up a coloring book and blast music. Any of these distractions can help enormously.
