The best way to realise that it is not just you is to meet other people in the same position. Now I do know this might not be as easy as it sounds especially if you live in a isolated area or if your position involves possible stigma meaning people are unwilling to speak out, but if you have Internet access you do quite literally have the world at your fingertips, consider maybe looking at the 7cups forums by issue or joining a online support group which might help give you the confidence to speak out about your issue or struggle meaning you soon realise you are not alone and the only barrier to finding others are in some ways self created.

Look around for starters and well if that's not enough, you'll just need your cell phone for that. Whether its about realizing that you are somewhat deprived of something or have an upper hand, the point mainly is in believing that you are not the only one in this entire universe that has a specific issue at hand. I wouldn't want you to underestimate your abilities but please don't also get over confident in that matter. Be glad that you have recognized the first step to solving a problem which is- realizing there is one !
