having depression feels like having everything that kept you moving forward drained from you. having anxiety can be like a constant overwhelming conversation your having with yourself but never noticed or a wave of emotions confusing the space of time you are in resulting symptoms

Having both depressing and anxiety is like having to run a huge race that everybody was looking forward too, and everybody was really rooting for you so you felt as if you had to do your best, but you have this really bad stomach bug that makes you want to throw up, so you want to not run because you know it's what's best for you, but you're so afraid to stay home and recover because everybody was cheering for you, so it makes you feel even more nauseous. It's like a never ending cycle, it's suffocating and when the anxiety gets bad, I become more upset and when I'm more upset, I can't build up the motivation to go out and do what I'm supposed to, but when I don't do it I become more anxious and it goes on and on and on. Usually nobody cares that I don't go out and do things, and they're really empathetic because they know I'm going through a hard time, but it's difficult to get that through my head.

it feels as though you're drowning, and everybody else is doing fine. And it makes you feel guilty that you're feeling this way, and you eventually just give up and you let the void succumb you.

Having both is really miserable. Because of depression, you don't even want to wake up in the morning to go to work or school, but because of anxiety, you feel worried about things will happen if you miss work or school. Then you force yourself to go. At your workplace/school, you don't have enough energy to do anything and just want to go home. However, when you go home, you feel anxious and down because you didn't finish things at work/school.

Everyone has feelings of depression or anxiety now and then. Chronic depression or anxiety, however, lasts for weeks, months, years, or a lifetime. Some days are better or worse than others. Generally speaking, having chronic depression and anxiety together can mean low self-esteem, feeling hopeless, fear of certain events or activities, avoiding situations that cause anxiety, avoiding people, and self-medicating (drugs or alcohol). With proper therapy and/or medication, symptoms can be greatly reduced, and quality of life can be improved.

It is as though the world hates you and you cannot find a way to make things better, no matter how hard you try to make things right. It's as though you are rollerblading through marbles. There's always one tiny little marble that will ruin the whole journey and you can't help but consider every freakin' marble in your path.

I have severe depression. And to be honest with you, I'm not going to sugar-coat it, because society seems to romanticise it, but it really isn't a good feeling at all. your days seem long and dark; at the back of your mind you can feel something there pestering you and trying to overshadow you like some kind of beast. when you have depression you have to fight that shadow everyday just to make it seem like you're totally fine. anxiety on the other hand, i'll give a scenario. imagine one day you woke up in a country you've never been to before, you don't know anybody, you have nothing but the clothes on your back, and you have to find your way to make a living and talk to people you have NEVER seen before. it's kind of like that, but every single day.
that's what it's like to have depression and anxiety.

For me, anxiety is feeling like you can't get out. Just can't. No matter how hard you try. Like you're always skipping a step on this huge staircase and you can't reach the top or bottom.

I cannot speak for depression but I know that anxiety is where you are constantly worried or stressed out about things.
