Find your passion, and act towards fulfilling it. If it's not now then when! Normally, we tend to delay things because we think it is not the right time, because we think that we are not ready to pursue our dreams yet. We leave our plans, goals, and dreams to later when we get less busy, when the right time comes, or when the right person shows up. But what if that right time never comes, what if we never get less busy, what if suddenly we have to leave this world? Sometimes we get very clear on our passion, on our personal vision, and on our dream. But something is missing. It is Action. We have lots of plans but we are not taking a step toward accomplishing what we want to do. We delay things because we think it is not the right time yet. The message: don’t leave your dreams to later because later may never come. Things are happening suddenly and who knows may be in the next few years this cycle of the world would come to an end and that time it would be too late to regret because we would not get another chance. If you think you are too busy and do not have time to think about your dream and do something about it now, my suggestion to you is to get up early. Don’t miss the power in getting up early. Start with waking up one hour earlier than your normal wake up every day. You will see how positive the impact would be on your progress in life. Find what you love and do it. Find your passion and act toward fulfilling it. If you don’t do it, it will never get done and you will never be satisfied.

I hear you. Burnout happens to best of us. It sucks when you have a lot of things you should be doing but you have no desire to start doing them at all. When I feel this way, I like to just take a step back and think about how I’m feeling. Sometimes doing nothing and just being with yourself for a while can be even more beneficial than forcing yourself to get up and do something you don’t want to do! Take this as an opportunity to practice some self-awareness and mindfulness, and then talk to someone about how you’re feeling. I hope this helps! Remember that you can always come to 7Cups if you need a listening ear.

The thing about your question that makes me sad is the last line- “I feel like I have no purpose.” I also feel like there is an implied “should” in your statements- like as if you “should” have passion. Having worked with people who have extreme passion about what they do I can tell you there is a negative side to it- they just can’t see things from other people’s points of view. They will tell you they can’t possibly be bothered to work on anything other than their pet project, even if that puts you in the lurch. I have to say when I read other people’s Quora posts about how when screening future employees they look for people with passion- I cringe, because it can be really awful to work with people like that. They have tunnel vision that is focused on what they want and worse, they will try to convince you that what they want is THE BEST and only thing on the planet. On the other hand having diverse interests is not necessarily a bad thing. I agree with other answers on here that yes, in some situations you really need to commit to something (like being a parent), and it’s not fun to be friends with someone who is a flake. You may just be searching for the perfect thing for a while. I’m guessing you are in your 20s or 30s? Hey, people live longer now, so you have some time to figure out what you want out of life. Be true to your nature, life will reveal your true purpose. Hope that helps.

I would focus on the reasons why you should or want to do something but have no passion/drive. I would start by writing on a piece of paper what you exactly would like to achieve, write reasons why you want to achieve the particular thing, but also write things that are stopping you or are causing you to feel like you have no passion or drive. Find ways to boost your motivation :) You could do this by getting someone else to help motivate you and address the reasons why you might now be motivated. Having someone on your side is a great idea in order to achieve things in our lives! :)

I like to read my favorite books sip some tea! It always inspires me to read wordsmiths at work! I love to think about the heart of a book, and take it into my heart if that makes sense. I love to read and it clams me. Tea does to. If you are a little nerd like me I highly suggest doing this? Do you have a favorite book? Why is it your favorite? Sometimes just living in a different world for a little help me think of what to do in the real world! It’s a little time to think.

When you have no passion or drive you go back to the basics. You find the simple things in life that makes you happy or you try a number of things and see what sparks your soul and your life. Sometimes we have to go out and try different things and see what will make us happy again. It isn't always easy to do but it can be done. It also takes will power to not get complacent with not having any passion or drive. Force yourself to get out there and see what can make you happy again, what drives your passion again and what can spark the change you may need.

Evaluate as to why you have no drive. Know that you can achieve all. Life is hard but sit down and ask yourself what can I do today to make me feel motivated. What gives you motivation? Do something that makes you feel that you gave accomplished something. Everyone has their own reasons. Know that you are an important person and not just to yourself. Do something that gives you positive feeling. It could be as small as giving someone your smile of a hug . Maybe volunteer at a local charity

Maybe your mind is tired, burning yourself out especially in today's world is common. Take some time off and get recharged to get the drive back. Do something you love to do. Smile more and relax. It is okay to feel out of drive at times. Happens to the best of us. Just be at peace with yourself and things will fall in place. Take care of yourself and your mental health first. I understand it is easier said than done and we have to balance life but try to take a break every now and then so that you don't feel burnt out.

At times when I find myself lacking in passion; I try listening to motivational or powerful literary works. As I am listening to I will write down or type out lines that "speak" to me. For example a long time ago I couldn't find the motivation to do anything as I felt I wasn't being true to myself. I reached this conclusion while writing down the entirety of "Man in the Glass" by Dale Wimbrow. After coming to terms with this realization I was able to formulate a plan to cope with the lack of sense of self I was experiencing which; Thereby beginning to rekindle that inner spark of passion and drive I had been lacking.

It can be feel hard to lose passion and drive but if i do i try to see people who love me the most as much as i can, and this helps me a lot to stay on track. Surrounding yourself by good people who love and care about you is a good way to get through a stressful time and they can help you take your mind off things. Sometimes just taking a minute to yourself can also help, listening to some music and shutting off from the world for however long you need can also help to reset your mind, and remember nothing is permanent.
