Well for starters you need to find something you like doing, even if it's only for five minutes. Mabey a walk in the park, or watching a tv program. It depends on the person and the schedule. Here are some activities I would recommend: Coloring, going for a walk or jog, improvement going to the gym, refine your writing or drawing skills, watch tv, make home improvement projects, hang out with friends.

Well it's good to take a walk... For the exercise and also because you would taking some sunlight too. That's one.
Breathing exercises could be good too. To become aware of the present.

The best activities to do are that ones that you are able to do, and that you enjoy (or at least used to enjoy) doing. Depression can rob us of the energy, motivation, and joy of doing things, so I recognize that a lot of activities might not be as appealing to you at the moment. Having said that, it is a very good sign that you are looking to introduce more activities into your daily life, that might help your healing process immensely!
My advice would be introduce physical activities, as this will help your mood on a brain level; this can be as simple as taking a daily 30min walk. Also, why not try drawing or painting? Art can be very therapeutic and calming; try to use as many bright colours as you can get your hands on. Another activity that might help is reading quality literature. Depression can sometimes mess with your ability to concentrate, but if you are able to concentrate on reading books, even if for much shorter periods of time, that could be really helpful; reading can immerse you into a different world, shifting your thoughts to something other than your current situation. Last but not least, if you are not doing it already, start journaling (regularly!); keeping a diary will give you an outlet to vent your feelings, and might get you to better analyze the events in your life and your thoughts about them.

Try viewing every day as a new day. Every day has challenges and successes. When things feel too challenging, celebrate the little things. Get out of bed and go to the couch, make yourself something for lunch, or even showering and changing into new sweats can some days be a success. Try not to dwell on the little things. Find things that make you happy, looking at funny pictures, watching videos, etc, whatever makes you happy start your day off with that activity. Also even when you feel like it doesn't matter or that nobody cares, reach out to others. They care, you are valued and important to others.

Anything that gets you active and talking with friends is extremely helpful because it usually results in letting you laugh. It's easier to talk to people when you're happy, and I know gaming makes me happy, so maybe it'll help you all too! I like gaming online with people so I don't have to worry about being forced to keep up a front if I feel anxious and can easily just say I have something to do and calm down until I'm ready to come back. I also find it fun to play on your own then show your friends what you did while they were gone!
