When I was depressed at work, I first identify the reasons behind my feeling. Once I identify them, I try to work through them, working every possible angle while keeping focus on the positive thoughts or outcomes that I could cause. Thinking positively is hard, but talking about your feelings with supportive friends and families helps you to do so. Then I focus on doing things that I truly love rather than be stuck in the same depressing situation, and that helps me break the walls.

If you've been dealing with feelings of depression for more than two weeks, the best thing to do would be to see a physician. While speaking with a Listener at 7 Cups of Tea can be helpful (and definitely feel free to do this!), a licensed physician would best know how to help you.

First of all, you need to seek a professional help. You need to try to understand what's causing all this. After that, you need to be surrounded by people who truly loves you and cares about you. And last but no least, try to believe in yourself. You're not in this world by mistake. You're unique.

First of all, step back and take your time. Remember that you're definitely not alone in this - there are millions of people in the same place who're dealing with the same dark feeling. There are multiple ways to reach out, here with a listener, with friends or family, with a trained therapist, on an online forum. Try to give yourself credit - look how far you've come and how much you've made it through. No matter what you're dealing with, you have the fortitude to move through this as well.

There is never an easy answer for a question like this. The first thing someone should do is see a Dr. for the symptoms they have, and then go forward from there.
