The best thing to do when depressed is to tell the your close family and friends as it is a good to tell others on how you are feeling. When I went through depression I kept it to myself until I opened up and found out that it feels better to do so.

There's never a correct answer to this, there's several answers that can help, but you can find some coping skills, having a therapist or someone to listen to you and talk to you is always good to have. Some people like medications, but you need to have a diagnosis and a doctor give you a medication to use and ease your depression. Its never good to be alone though, always surround yourself with people who will help and be there for you, or surround yourself with things that make you happy. Depression isn't forever and someday you'll see that improvement is constant. :-) Don't give up, if you ever need to talk, I'm here.

That will probably depend upon the cause. What's got you feeling depressed? Has anybody ever suggested that you walk? I know that it may SOUND simple, and that sometimes it's hard to walk when we feel like we can barely get the washroom or eat, but walking can honestly help a whole lot! Doing exercise increases Seratonin. Seratonin is a natural anti-depressant. (NO, I'm not telling you to stop talking your meds. This is not wise, and I"m not your doctor. I just know how much it helped me when I was down.) When we increase Seratonin, you would think that it would be enough to help, but our bodies need Vitamin D to help to absorb and use the Seratonin. How do you get Vitamin D? Being in the sun. Well, that helps, but vitamin D isn't easily absorbed and used by the body unless we have vitamin C. How do we get Vitamin C? Usually by eating such things are citrus and other fruit. My suggestion? Eat an apple and go walking in the sun. Within about three weeks of walking like that for 30-45 minutes every day, I felt a DRASTIC reduction in my depression symptoms. (Any exercise would do the same as walking.)

Depression used to stop me from enjoying ANYTHING, even things that used to make me happy. When I began feeling this down, I started attending therapy and taking medication. For me, taking medication helped push me enough to talk to someone and make a change

Try to relax and think when things really bother you. And do the things you enjoy doing and be around the people who make you happy. And if things get out of control, try a councilor, person you trust, or a helpline to assist you.

Take a hot shower and eat something. Make sure to put on comfortable clothes. Hop into bed or somewhere comfortable and close your eyes. Breathe. Just think for a second. What do you like about yourself? I'll bet your eyes shine. I'll bet your face lights up when you smile. I"ll bet you can make anyone's day by chatting with them. There. Just like that. Keep your eyes closed now, and just rest until you want to do something. Whenever you can, keep coming up with things to love about yourself and anything around you. Do you like how the sun looks on the grass? Do you like the way the bass drops in that one guilty pleasure song? Do you like the way those four words sound when they are put together just so? We're here for you, darling. Just Breathe.

You can talk to close friends that you trust or family member, or you can also look for help online, call for help (e.g. the samaritans) or even make an appointment with your local GP and explain how you are feeling.
