Is it normal to feel as though you are not in control of your own body? Like someone else is in the control room and you're on autopilot?

I personally don't think the term "Normal" should be used in this scenario. You are you. No matter what that is, Its a person that is wonderful in their own way. Now when it comes you the main subject of the question, its ok if you sometimes don't feel like you are in control. At times many different things can go through your mind and you may act out of character and wonder if it was you who really did that. A way to counter this is working on strategies to remain calm and collected even in heated situations so you can make decisions that best fit you.

Yes, but it's important to find out why you're feeling that way, and what you can do to stop it. It's your body.

It's perfectly normal to sometimes feel out of control, and noticing that is already a huge step in the right direction. Sometimes when I feel like I am out of control I do my best to take 10 minutes every morning to really try and be in the moment. Almost like meditation, but we don't have to call it that. Just sitting with your eyes closed for ten to fifteen minutes focusing on your breathing, the sounds you can hear, how everything around you feels on your body and nothing else. That has really helped me find back to myself and no longer feel like I am running on autopilot.

To some extent, and occasionally yes. If it is more than occasionally, or if it is occurring more than usual, or if this is a significant change for you, then maybe not. But if you are concerned about it, seek the counsel of a professional. there are therapists on this website and thats a good place to start.

Yes, absolutely. This happens to me especially when I am driving. I can be driving through somewhere and sort of switch off, and get lost in my own thoughts, and when I sort of regain focus, I am somewhere anywhere up to 15 minutes away
