It is a thing, but sadly normally doesn't get diagnosed before the two year mark. You could always possibly have something else, though, you can check in with a doctor or therapist for a diagnosis!

I hear you say that you are a high functioning person who has a mood or feelings of depression, is that correct? From what I've learnt it is certainly possible that a person can be high functioning, and also feel down or depressed. Higher functioning individuals have a greater awareness of what is happening and it is thought that is a contributing factor to depression. When diagnosing depression or deciding it is something else there are standards for a successful plan. Firstly, be evaluated by a mental health professional to determine the best course of action. You know yourself best and will need to answer questions to determine the next step.
