Depression can be like a puddle. Sometimes you don't know how you stepped in it. But once you have you're cold. And sometimes being in the water feels warmer than when you leave. For some the puddle is wider. Some it is deeper.some just keep stepping in them. And then there's people who have pools. And then lakes. And rivers. And oceans But we all have to leave the water sometime emotional hypothermia is not a good thing

I would describe depression as this wall. It is a wall that gets between you and life. You stop being able to enjoy things you once enjoyed and cared about. It becomes difficult to care about or do simple everyday tasks. You feel guilty for not maintaining relationships with people. It can become hard to go to work- or even get out of the house. Depression is a very real thing- some of us deal with it from time to time and others experience it all the time.

An absence of hope, a period that i call "Pitch Black" because during this time we see all dark, we don't see a future anymore, we don't feel love for ourself and in extreme cases suicidal thoughts can start.

Depression feels like being pulled out to sea despite taking precautions and/or knowing how to swim. Sometimes it's inevitable due to a chemical imbalance, and other times we put ourselves in compromising positions. Depression is never easy especially as a teenager, because it is often overlooked due to the fact that many adults view it as a teenager being melodramatic. Depression is an uphill battle that everyone faces at some point in their life, but some people's hills are steeper than others. It is never easy to overcome it but you can overcome it with the love and support of others.

Depression is drowning in your own thoughts and knowing that you can breathe but somehow you unconsciously and sometimes willingly grip your throat and suppress your lungs for air. Sometimes you get a whiff of that breathable air but then just one bubble pops and it's waves and waves of tides once again.

I would describe depression as a common yet serious thing. Depression is a horrible illness that lots of people suffer. I think depression is kind of a state you're in that completely takes over and starts to take a toll on your life, making daily activities challenging that wouldn't normally be. It seems endless, the feeling gets worse and worse before it ever gets better. Hang in there, getting help can get you places you never thought you would be.
