Depression is in the mind, if you can find inner peace in your mind you will be fine. Take up a new hobby that you'll enjoy or try to tell someone your feelings before they build up. If you are more of a private person (like me!) write a diary, just find the best way to express your feelings.

Depression is difficult. Because everyone feels different. There is no way I can tell you to get rid of depression etc. because you simply have to find a way out yourself. You can do it. I believe in you. Get yourself help, visit a therapist, visit me for a little talk maybe... You ARE going to find a way out there. Just believe in yourself, I know its difficult.

First step is to admit that you have a problem, then you need to find the roots of the depression and what evoked it in the first place, try to evaluate the reasons, begin working on fixing the problems that makes you depressed, and always remember that it doesn't get solved over night, it needs patience and commitment :)

How you overcome depression is an entirely personal journey for you and I can't say for sure how to do it having never met you. You're on the right path because admitting you have depression and seeking help is the first step. Depression can be cause by social, environmental, chemical, genetic, and other factors which makes depression like fighting a hydra, you have to cut all the heads before you can end it. For example, if you're depressed and in a bad relationship but seeing a therapist, the therapy has a limited effect because you can only do so much without making changes or getting out of the bad relationship. Overcoming depression can mean facing many different problems and it can take years, and you may never fully be free from it, but you can have a normal happy life.

I cannot say anyone has mentioned a cure for depression to me. In my personal experience, I tend to overcome boughts of depression by reminding myself of what's good even when its hard to see. While, I can't promise you what my solution is will work for everyone or is a fix, I find it tends to help me. When I work to remind myself of the beauty I find but may not yet fully comprehend, I find some means of peace. Sometimes I visit places I have not been, go for a jog, or draw. At times where it feels that this doesn't work, I try to find the silver lining in pain and work to be an ally to others. I find some sense of meaning.
