I think depression is always there as a small part of everyone. When we wake up, those feelings of dread, or when we are having a particularly low week or period of our lives, depression shows its face. Depression is all about how we deal with it, how we manage our feelings and emotions and it's about not letting those feelings overcome who we truly are.

Yes I think you can, although I think it depends on what your definition of depression is, I feel it will always leave its mark on your mind because of how deep and affecting it is in serious cases, but that does not mean you can't be happy and stay happy, i think life is a delicate balance between happy and sad with the memories linking those two poles together, light dark, yin and yang, this is what allows us to appreciate the good things and lament over the bad, if we were never sad how would we truly appreciate happiness, depression is just an extreme, it's part of you and always will be, I see tragedy in the world which does not even relate to me and it makes me depressed sometimes, you just need to find that balance.

Yes, you can. You have to count on it being a gradual process, but as long as you're on the right path, depression will eventually disappear or at least lessen enough to make life managable and enjoyable. You just have to hang in there, not give up, seek the help you need, and learn how to best deal with your depression. Acceptance is important in this.
