Admit that you regret what you did in the past, but try to learn from those mistakes and better yourself because of them. Don't get hung up on regretting what you did, change your behavior to show others you regret your actions.

It's hard to live with regrets, but if you've done everything you can to fix the problem, it's best to focus on the present and the future, with the belief that despite your regrets, you can still be happy and fulfilled.
To focus on the present, it helps to have a productive routine and focus on people and activities that you know make you happy. Pets are good for this too.
To focus on the future, make plans to do things that excite or interest you. If you have friends or family you can do this with, that's good too. It's good to decide sometimes that you're going to have a good day, and you're going to have good days in the future too.
I think about past regrets a lot, it's painful. But when those thoughts come back to haunt you, remember that the past is gone, you've done all you can and you have nicer things to think about.
