I let it handle it self mostly. What I mean is that in most instances I respond exactly as my body and mind dictates. Now for some or most people this isn't considered healthy. So say for eample I am feeling depressed and my mind and body feel like I just need some time alone, say for 2 days, then I give myself that 2 day break from everything or everyone. You might have the need to head out and have fun with friends, then you should probably do that. In extreme cases where the depression might lead to something more sever, I would strongly recommend council or therapy. After all we want healthy 7 cup members even if they feel down and out in the game of life.

I try to distract myself and to use my pain in an artistic way. I always draw, listen to music and try to distract myself. Art in general helps me a lot.

I think depression is a really person thing and a large part of coping with it is find what works for you. For me I found it what worked for me was reaching out and being open about the fact that I was struggling and needed help, even though it was admittedly terrifying telling people at first. The other thing that worked was remembering to be kind to myself and recognising where my limits were. Finally animals really helped me, I would be so done and my cat would come and sit with me and make me feel like I could go a little bit further.

I write about it, and then read it again and again until the words I've written lose their meaning and it'll start to sound very stupid. I'd sleep and hope that tomorrow will be a brighter day.

Days when I am working I am trying somehow to get rid of it of thinking about something positive. During the time when I am off the work, I am mostly in bed sleepung, watching sad or depressed movies, eating loads of food and I need to be in dark, then my friends know that they need to send me funny videos and i will cope with it somehow.

Long runs have helped me learn to cope - your mind empties, and you have a reason to feel proud of yourself! I started out as the worst runner in my school, and practicing during weekends in the country helped me improve bit by bit, and I started to enjoy the feeling when you fall into a patterned stride and watch the world fly by.

You keep hope alive.
There are a lot of things that help with mild depression: routine, getting out of the house, exercise, laughter, sunlight, a balanced diet, hot showers, cuddling. Severe depression is not as easy to tackle. But the most important thing to tell yourself is that every wave will pass, and no matter what, no matter how long you've been doing this and there still is no light at the end of the tunnel, *just keep going.* Keep hoping. Have faith that it will get better. You can only find out if you're alive when it happens. So just have faith. It can get better, and it will.
