Okay, that is a pretty hard question. I mean no one wants to get stressed or depressed but all of us feel that way sometimes. All we can learn is how to deal with it.
This is such an elaborate topic that loads of books can be written on it. But I am not much of a writer so I can share some simple tips. Well, they aren't as simple as they sound, but with time it will become easier.
One- don't beat yourself up for anything. We tend to blame ourselves for whatever comes up in our life. Try not to do that. Look at your mistakes, accept them and learn from them. Don't blame yourself too much.
Two- Don't pressurise yourself infront of harsh deadlines. Try to come up with a schedule, and break down large tasks into small ones. Making schedules can really make stuff look doable.

Being stressed and depressed is not something that you can necessarily decide to do or not do. It is something that affects a lot of people and takes a lot of time and effort to conquer and move past. Medication is something one could consider, along with counseling or therapy. Making sure that you are doing things for you is also extremely important in moving past difficult times and feelings. Distract yourself from allowing yourself to feel sad or anxious by surrounding yourself with things that make you happy (reading, writing, playing video games, friends, family, etc). Do what feels right and if nothing feels right, then that most likely means that you are at a place in your life right now where you need to explore and find new things to try!!!

How I don’t get stressed and depressed is by changing the way I think and speak. This then changes the way I act and how those around me act. This creates habits that reinforce positivity and serenity and joy. One way to change the way to speak and think and to notice first of all what you’re thinking and saying. Take time one to three times a day to write down a column of thoughts. Then look at how many are negative and how many are positive. Which thoughts could you change? Some may be ready to fall away like a dead leaf, others may need more time and are there for a reason, like a scab on a wound; picking it off too early will hurt and leave a scar.
