Find someone with the same interests as you, same favorite TV Shows or books, same taste of music and just try chatting with them. Some of them might be slightly rude but if they are with the same interests as you they probably are nice.

Channel your alter ego. Be confident without revealing too much personal information (of course it is not safe to do so). And who knows being confident on the internet might just help boost your confidence in real life.

Just be yourself and you will find people with the same interests. Make sure you're safe and don't give any personal information to others also.

Just be yourself, making friends online is no different than in person. The only thing I ever tweeked when making friends online was this: I didn't share everything about myself. Safety is still important online

There isn't one way to make friends online, sometimes it'll happen accidentally, it's like making friends in real life but slightly different and much easier on socially anxious people. If you see someone somewhere who you want to be friends with just say hi, if your looking for people to have possible friendships with, find a website you like, 7 cups is an example but it isn't the only one, there's wattpad, twitter, even youtube; then do things on that site that interest you, at some point you'll see someone who seems to be looking at/watching the same type of things as you, go say hi to them - and good luck!

Just try messaging them! Most people are friendly and nice. Try joining some active Facebook groups. That's some of the reason why I'm still here today. They help so much.
