Sometimes, it is as easy as walking next door. I live next to an 89 yr. old widow. Each day, I get her mail and paper for her. She is always happy for the company. So much, so, that it is often difficult to get away. I used to share extra food with an elderly gentleman who lived on the opposite side of me. It really is very easy. Locate someone elderly in your neighborhood and offer to do something for them. They will, more than likely, welcome your visits. Be prepared, however, for the possibility that they are often hard of hearing and communicating is sometimes difficult.

Volunteer at a local nursing home or any place you know where elderly stay/visit the most. You can look it up online for nursing homes around your area and see what ones sound the most appealing, or even go by there and see how it is and ask about volunteering and just coming in to visit with the elderly.

There are many ways you can volunteer! The number one way is going to a local citizens center and asking if you are allowed to volunteer and everything should go from there.

Volunteering is the simple part, contact your local home for the elderly or get involved in a function that mostly includes older people. Offer to help in any way and treat them with respect, just as you would a professor in school, but remember to be personable and try to have fun. After all, elderly folks love to laugh too, you know!

Hell if I know. Direct this question elsewhere. Maybe at, like, the staff of 7 Cups? They're probably a better place.

You can go to a nursing, assisted living, ore group home and volenteer. In usa there are also veterans homes to visit who really enjoy the time talking to others and sharing their stories with others.

Volunteering is a difficult and easy task at the same time. You may specifically volunteer on the website homepage. See "Become a listener". You must pass a test that just makes sure you are up to the job. If you don't pass the first time then there is nothing to worry about. All this means is you have a few more areas to cover in becoming a listener yourself and there are many resources to help you complete this. In your listener options you may volunteer to talk to 18+ and teens to suit your specific preferences.
