In order to stop negative thoughts, you need to meditate. you need to concentrate on the things you do. you should know the true power within you. If someone makes you feel to think so, you better avoid them and stay deaf to whatever they tell. And you should avoid any negative relationships. To a better positive life, sleep well and stay active and focus on every single thing you do....Exercise, long rides with someone you love, meditation might help you to know the true you within and so you can never think in a negative way... :)

You can't stop having negative thoughts. They will always keep coming back as long as your mind is thinking of something. They are a part of you and will always be (deep inside). However, there are ways to minimize such thoughts. You know what you love to do (paint, dance, sing, music, etc.). Pursue your passion alongside your job (if you have one). And most importantly, you gotta get out there. You gotta face the real world. I know, this is too much too ask, but you have to get out of your current thoughts, your current mind state. If you're still looking for your role in this world, going out is the best advice for you. Even if you know where you belong and your mind is still in that state where it doesn't want to just work or anything, get out there. You gotta meet new people, be with your family, be with your closest friends. And those people who believe that family or friends won't understand you and would just undermine your situation, its an excellent opportunity for y'all to meet new people, get excited and adventurous all around again. I have constantly been saying you gotta get out there. What I mean by that is, get out of your house, start exploring new things, you just have to take the first step for your own happiness. What's the risk in it? "The worst case scenario"? You'll be back to where you are now. But you'll at least be a bit happy that you tried. You just have to stay strong in the initial steps. Whatever happened with you, happened with you. But you can't let that moment define your life any further. You just have to make peace with it and keep moving forward!

I use mindfulness/meditation methods which my clinical psychologist taught me. Essentially they involve learning to notice, without judging, my thoughts as they come and go. My thoughts just are and do not define me any more than the fact that I have blue eyes does

I personally think you have to pray. It is a great way to remove all the bad things off of you. It's like a refreshment, a cleansing, it could wash away all the bad thoughts in you. :)

I would recommend that you would consider going to a theripist who would probably try some C.B.T which stands for cognitive behavioral therapy. It is a therapy where they try to change your negative thoughts into positive ones. But, if for whatever reason you are unable to set up an appointment with a theripist than I want you to keep track of all of your negitive thoughts and write them down in a journal, and try to figure out what triggered the negative thought. Then if you can, you might want to avoid whatever is making you feel negatively.

I personally find the best way I can hold the negative thoughts at bay is matching them with a positive one. It can be a positive thought about anything, even if it seems silly. Like, I'm really liking the way my hair looks today. Or, the trees look pretty in the sun. It may not work immediately, but eventually you may start noticing improvements.

There isn't really a way to STOP negative thoughts. And I know that's not a helpful answer but there is a way to have less of those thoughts. You can find a way to busy yourself, or write the negative thoughts down on paper with pen, put the paper on the water and watch the ink fade away, its a way to see those thoughts "fade away" and it can actually help. Its a form of self therapy in some ways. But again busying yourself with homework, studying, working, planning, organizing, cleaning, reading, writing, anything that keeps your thoughts focused on something in specific can help those negative thoughts be less and less.

distract yourself! honestly, do something you like, or homework - because homework always takes your mind off things. for me, anyway. other than that, go for a walk or immerse yourself in nature - that's pretty ideal! of course, you could write a list of things that are negative / positive or talk to someone that cares - that's almost guaranteed to help.

Negative thinking is a habbit which will take some effort to break. Most of the negative thoughts are irrational or mostly fear based. Replace the negative thoughts with logic that counters it. Also keeping a diary of positive things that happened in life can help a lot. Get engaged in an activity you truly enjoy, hanging out with people also helps a lot. Make a friend with a person who appreciates you. That will increase your self-worth and self-esteem. A high self-worth is the best cure to negative thinking.

If you constantly think about all the things that make you happy even if they are something so small as learning to ride a bike. It will help you in the long run. I believe if you find the smallest memory that once made you happy.... it could cure the negative thought that would build up in your mind.
