Do things you enjoy. Simply try to make time for yourself. Exercise is always a good way to keep the mind cleared of negative thoughts. The busier your mind is, the less negative thoughts will enter your mind. Alternatively, see a specialist who can help in greater detail.

you can stop feeling depressed, by talking any pressing issues out with family and friends, and realising that real problems exist and at times these things are unforeseeable and out of our hands. then think of something positive, then attempt to focus only on the positives.

This is a big question - everyone has different coping mechanisms. A close group of friends and family as your support system will always help. Talk to professionals - that include counsellors, psychiatrists, therapists, and try to keep an open mind towards medication, though do look up on their side-effects or withdrawal symptoms. It also helps if the professional is referred to you by someone who has a similar problem and who can vouch for them, so you know they can be trusted - usually it takes a few tries to get the right one. And find something happy to do every day, even if it's small. This list helps! http://www.buzzfeed.com/annaborges/take-care-of-yourself?fb_ref=click_share
