Hey,I understand how important it is to find out ways to keep ourselves away from depression as it affects our overall mood and affects our performance. I would suggest you to find out stuffs that interests you. Engage yourself in different activities like cooking, painting, Reading, dancing etc. I'm positive that this might help you divert your mind and will open a lot of fields that might interest you and keep you involved and busy that your depression wouldn't have space to fit in. You can even go out and volunteer for something which you're passionate about.

Do things that you haven't done before. Even if it may seem daunting at first, sometimes trying new things can help you discover what really makes you happy. This could be going for walks, reading, swimming, or anything you've been planning to do. I remember when I was in a dark place, where I felt a strong sense of uselessness. I tried painting one time, and I was hooked. I could focus on painting for hours on end and I enjoyed it. Instead of spending hours on end scrolling through social media, I spent that time productively. Hope this helps!
