How can I feel good if the only thing I do today is take a shower?

Today you got up.. you left your bed.. and you loved yourself and took care of yourself enough to get yourself into the shower... Hopefully you shampoo'd and cleansed yourself using more or less than 5-15 minutes and then dried yourself off.. you got back into pj's or slouches (lounge wear or crappy but comfortable clothing) or got dressed for the day.. I know, from what you have said, that you claim you only got the shower done today. But it is interesting to note that most of the time, people who say they did "nothing" or "only 1 thing" actually tend to do more than that and discount the things that they did as being "unimportant" or "too small to mention". So did you talk to anyone? did you help anyone or say anything nice to anyone? Did you hold the door for anyone with their hands full? Did you watch TV or movies, or play a video game? Did you have a really good dream? or an interesting dream? Did you work on a hobby? or on a computer? Did you talk to anyone over the phone or online? Did you read anything? Did you spend time with a pet? All those things count as activities... noting them is you punching the card and saying "I am still here" and "I am interesting"

the point is not what all u did in a day.....the point is did u enjoy doing what u did?dont regret a day spent....wats over is over....be at the present...cos present is only under our control....

You got out of bed and faced the day. That's an accomplishment. When you are dealing with a lot it can be hard to feel motivated.

Sometimes it is difficult to want to do anything at all. Dealing with our problems leaves us with little energy at all. One way you can put a postive spin on this is to remember that you did do something, you took a shower. That, I am sure, was probably an accomplishment. Each day, remember that doing even a little something is better than doing nothing at all.

Try to do other things besides just taking a shower. Go for a walk, make some art, even play a video game. If you are feeling down, little things do add up and make you feel more positive. It is sometimes hard to make yourself do them, but at the end of the day you'll start to feel better.

You're doing something, getting out of bed should be a big accomplishment. Congratulate yourself anytime you do something like that, just getting out of bed is a reason to congratulate yourself.
