Depression is different for everyone. For some, it feels like a dark cloud that follows them around waiting to take over and for some, the dark cloud has turned into an unforgiving storm they feel they can't get out of. Often times, I use metaphors and imagery to express how my depression and anxiety feel like the one I used before. Depression can often have physical symptoms as well. Try journaling or writing how it makes you feel. Writing is a great release for yourself if you don't feel comfortable talking to others about it.

Depression feels different to everybody. Generally it is difficult to even explain. "I'm tired. but not the kinda of tired you can sleep over". Waking up is more difficult because you can feel as if something is weighting on you-your mind, body. It can be as simple as not able to go downstair to your local store literally a minute away to buy something. it's not "i don't want to do it" (sometimes it is) but it can be "i can't force myself to do it". It comes in different forms, we are angry without a reason and easily triggered and you can't control it at all. What I often say is "I am tired/feeling a bit de@d" and of course people relate, but it is not the same. It can be similar to what people think you might feel, but someday you'll find a way to tell them how it actually is because it is just different for each one of us. Best of wishes.
