Depression is a terrible thing. It's an illness that takes away your light. It's not fun being sad or suicidal or hateful to your self all the time. They want to be happy. To some people they find it comfortable and once they get out of it they don't function the same. They get anxiety (social anxiety) or they get restless waiting for it to come back.

Yes. They may say they don't, but they do want to get better. Nobody wants to feel bad all the time. That doesn't, however, mean they want to talk to you about it.

Sometimes no, you can often feel so bad about yourself that you shouldn't feel better and that you should suffer. Others also enjoy the attention brought by caring people from having depression and may use it as a way to get the attention of these people. Once I had overcame my depression there was a point when I had felt really emotionless and it was horrible, at that time I found myself wishing I had depression back just so I could feel something.

no, some of the people want to wallow on their on misery and some. most people just want to wallow on their own misery and feel hopeless,, they just know that there is no way that they could ever get better so they don't actually try to do anything, and some people want to feel better because they know that in order to get better from depression, it should require strength, faith and self belief

For the most part, people want to get better, they want to feel happy. Sometimes however, a person can be in such a strong depression that they do not feel worthy of getting better, or they have been depressed for so long that they don't know what life is like when they aren't depressed. That alone can be a scary thought. "What if I'm worse when I'm not like this?" is what I thought for a long time, and it wasn't until more recently that I realized that all that was, was the depression talking. That in reality, I truly wanted to be happy, I just had to keep pushing back against depression, keep fighting against it. That will to fight mixed with help from friends and loved ones has helped me a lot to this day.

In some cases, no. Sometimes people are afraid of recovery based on the way they think people will treat them, or even the fear of what will happen when they no longer feel depressed. They might not know what to do, and sometimes depression is an easy scapegoat.

Yes they do.. But the depression covers the hope they have of getting better and they lose the courage to do so.. Depends if they do have a very strong hope to overcome it.
