Yes, but be extremely careful of who you tell it to, because they could be beating burdens that you have no idea about. Tell someone who you know will listen and do the best that they can to help you!! Telling someone is vital! Don't keep it under lock and key that is NOT good for your well being.

If they are extremely close friends and or family - I would personally recommend you to do so - for multiple reasons. If it is just a peer or that kind of thing It's your personal decision. (If you'd like to talk about this further feel free to message me)

Some people like your parent/guardian and doctor should definitely know, otherwise you don't need to tell anyone else unless you are comfortable with them knowing. Maybe tell a friend or trusted loved one and they could help you. It all helps it go away.

Absolutely. The first step to recovery is reaching out for support. It can be nerve wracking, it takes a lot of courage and bravery to reach out. It's strange how the chemicals in our bodies change to the point where we may feel this way, and it's completely normal how you are feeling. There are many resources and people to contact in order to help, so don't be afraid to take a chance that may save your life.

You do not *need* to - you do not owe anyone an explanation or a justification. I find telling something like this to someone who doesn't honor my words and my feelings with compassion to be quite painful, so I tell those people who can offer some safety.

Not if you do not feel like telling them, no. There have been a few situations where I felt like people should know that I was going through depression at the time so they'd understand how I was acting better, though.

Its a good idea to tell at least one person. Being completely alone with depression only hurts us further. If at least one person knows we are never truly alone.

No, you don't need to if you don't to. Talk to the people you trust. Talk to whoever you want to talk to. BUT you dont need to. It's your privacy...

I think it would be wise to tell someone that you're depressed. If you can't confide in a friend or family member then try to talk to a counselor or someone you trust. Talking about it is better than being silent.
