"Do you want to tell people?" is the more important question. You don't need to tell people. I know I haven't told anyone in my family about my depression just because it doesn't feel like they care enough. If you want to tell someone, tell someone you trust and someone who won't mind late night rantings and will pull you through some dark times...pretty much tell someone who is willing to help you through thick and thin. You don't need to tell anyone anything but if it gets bad, I would recommend seeing a counselor or calling someone.

The only thing you need to do, is what feel right to you. You don't need to make excuses for your mood or actions, however if you want to open a dialogue with a friend or family member about what you're going through, you should be honest. Don't try to be someone you're not. It only adds to your stress.

I think that you should only tell people when you are comfortable around them, and trust them enough to tell them about this different side of you. Depression is an illness just like any other, so you deserve the same respect and support that someone with say, for example, a broken arm, would receive.

That is up to you. You're the only person who needs to know anything about yourself, unless its a medical emergency.

Telling someone how you feel instead of bottling it uo inside is a good choice. If you feel like you have no one, write down your feelings somewhere. You don't necessarily need to tell someone but if you want help, you need to.

No you do not need to, but you should be open to speaking with your family, friends and counselors about it. Sometimes you may feel the need to tell people as a way of explaining your mood or your actions, but ther is no need to announce it to the entire world.

not really, it depends on if you feel comfortable sharing such information. what would be more important is whether you have come in terms with it and you are trying to over come it.

No. You should just tell to people that are truly your friends, people you trust your life with and you know that truly loves you and won't act different around you
