That's your personal business and yours only. If you want to share it, then that's perfectly fine. If it's someone you love and trust, then perhaps they can help you to overcome it. But if it's a stranger or someone who doesn't have business knowing your personal life, you should never feel obligated to let them know what you're going through.

No necessarily, if people are confronting you because of your behavior or notice that you've been distant/quiet/down lately and you feel you can confide in them, then yes because with that information people can learn and adapt around you.

That is entirely up to you! At no point should anyone feel pressured to or as if they are required to tell people that they are depressed. If you feel safe or comfortable in sharing that information with someone, then kudos to you for the strength and vulnerability that would require. Otherwise, feel confident in your ability to only tell those you wish to tell.

No. You only need to tell people what you are comfortable telling them. Some people might get offended but that is a them problem, you don't need to worry about them, just worry about you.

If you feel that you are managing okay on your own then you don't have to, but I would always recommend telling someone in case it gets worse and so that they can monitor you and make sure that you're doing okay. Also, don't suffer in silence, telling people always helps.

Do you *need* to tell anyone? No. *Should* you tell people? I believe so. I think you should tell the people you love, especially if you are in a relationship with someone, you should definitely tell your partner. They have every right to know if there are health issues going on, whether they be physical, mental, or emotional. Your partner should know you if you are dealing with mental illness so that they can be by your side and help you in times of need.
